Delaware Canal State Park in Pennsylvania

As one of the top 25 state parks in Pennsylvania, Delaware Canal State Park is definitely a camping destination worth considering—located only two hours from Martin RV Rentals. The park is a good mix of historic site and outdoor recreation. Nestled parallel to the Delaware River, the park has much to offer visitors.

Outdoor Recreation

Delaware Canal State Park features a historic canal, a 60-mile towpath, a 90-acre pond, and miles of beautiful river shoreline. These features not only make for a picturesque setting, but also some great water activities. Canoeing is one of the most popular activities, along with boating and fishing. When you’re not on the water or in your motorhome rental, you can take advantage of more than 60 miles of hiking paths and bike trails throughout the park. Other outdoor recreation opportunities include picnicking, hunting, and even cross-country skiing (when in season, of course).

What’s Nearby

The state park is not far from Philadelphia and several other state parks and recreation areas. We recommend that if you’re camping and not from Pennsylvania, try to make at least a day trip into Philly to explore many of the area’s historic landmarks, including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, or even Christ Church.

Camping

Unfortunately, Delaware Canal State Park does not have any type of lodging on site. However, you can stay nearby at one of Bucks County, PA’s many parks and campgrounds. You can find several different camping options that accommodate an RV rental or travel trailer rental.
