5 Pennsylvania State Parks to Explore

Erie Bluffs State Park

Many people are beginning to plan their spring and summer camping trips. You’re ready to do your research and reserve that motorhome from Martin RV Rentals. We don’t blame you! We are ready to say goodbye to this cold weather and hello to travel season. As you make your plans, consider these five fantastic state parks right here in Pennsylvania.

1.  Big Pocono State Park

You can enjoy all types of outdoor recreation at the massive Big Pocono State Park in northeastern Pennsylvania. This 1,306-acre park is beautifully raw and scenic, with mountain views and rugged trails. You can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, and much more.

2. Delaware Canal State Park

A little history, a little boating, and a lot of hiking trails characterize what you can find at Delaware Canal State Park. While this particular park doesn’t have a campground, you can find sites not too far away, or you may just decide to make this state park a short stop on your PA camping adventure.

3. French Creek State Park

Year round, French Creek State Park keeps visitors busy with a wide range of park activities. In the winter months, you can go ice skating, sledding, ice fishing, and even cross-country skiing. If you plant to visit during spring, summer, or fall, you may be able to take advantage of hiking trails, fishing, boating, swimming, horseback riding, and more.

4. Erie Bluffs State Park

Looking to travel west? Consider a stop at the beautiful Erie Bluffs State Park, located right along scenic Lake Erie. This day-use park isn’t huge, but you can enjoy one mile of shoreline as well as hiking, fishing, geocaching, boating, and more. Note that the shore is fairly rugged, so swimming is not permitted within the park.

5. McConnells Mill State Park

Have you been wanting to try whitewater boating? Then check out McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County, PA. Nestled in the Slippery Rock Creek Gorge, the park offers whitewater rapids of varying difficulty as well as hiking, climbing, rappelling, and much more.

You can’t go wrong with Pennsylvania state parks. As you travel throughout the state, be sure to do so in a motorhome from Martin RV Rentals of Manheim, PA.
