The Best of Lancaster County, PA: Part 1

From historical sites to wildlife exhibits, Lancaster County in Pennsylvania has a variety of local attractions. 10. Wheatland

Once the home of former President James Buchanan, Wheatland is a historic and beautiful estate. The Wheatland mansion, carriage house, ice house, and grounds are open for tours. You can not only see time-period artifacts, but also learn about this important time in American history. Wheatland is located just outside the town of Lancaster.

9. Ephrata Cloister

In 1732, German settlers built the Ephrata Cloister as a religious community seeking “spiritual goals rather than earthly rewards.” A National Historic Landmark, the Cloister is open to visitors and has occasional special programs.

8. Wolf Sanctuary of PA

Located in Lititz, PA, the Wolf Sanctuary aims to provide wolves and wolf hybrids as natural a habitat as possible. Visitors can see the wolves firsthand and get to know more about these intriguing creatures.

7. Choo Choo Barn

If you’re a fan of model trains, you do not want to miss the Choo Choo Barn of Strasberg. People of all ages enjoy this unique Lancaster County attraction.

6. Dutch Wonderland

A TripAdvisor 2014 Travelers’ Choice Winner, Dutch Wonderland of Lancaster, PA is a local amusement park committed to creating a fun experience for kids and their families. 5. Lititz Springs Park

From playgrounds and outdoor volleyball courts to the train station, Lititz Spring Park offers a relaxing and fun oasis in one of Pennsylvania’s quaint towns. Open from dawn until dusk, families enjoy spending time at Lititz Springs Park.
